Rosie started with a simple belief: the best food is the kind you remember. Growing up baking in the kitchen, she fell in love with bold flavors, textures, and pushing boundaries. Cheesebread was her “why not” experiment that turned into an obsession—and then into a business..

Before settling in Greenville, South Carolina, Rosie and her family served as missionaries in Argentina and Mexico. It was in Mexico that the idea of selling Brazilian cheese bread was born — a creative way to sustain their missionary work. Over time, that small idea blossomed into something much bigger.
When the family moved to the United States twelve years ago, Rosie decided to formalize her business, founding Rosie’s Cheese Bread in Greenville.

She’s hands-on, flavor-obsessed, and always restless (always testing a new twist late into the night). But more than that, she’s determined that every customer feels the care, whether you’re ordering your first loaf or your fiftieth. Rosie believes in transparency, community, and making products you can trust — no fillers, no shortcuts.

Rosie and Pastor Maciel also founded the Alcançe Foundation, a project that reflects their deep commitment to social causes and evangelism. Through the foundation, they offer classes in entrepreneurship, music, computer skills, and sewing — supporting underprivileged communities in the U.S., Brazil, and even in Turkey, where they work with refugees. The road to success was not easy. Rosie and her family faced many difficulties, especially during the pandemic, when financial support was scarce. Still, they persevered. They began producing cheese bread in their local church’s kitchen, relying on donations and their unwavering faith.

Over time, their persistence paid off — today, Rosie’s Cheese Bread is known for its exceptional quality, made with seven types of gourmet cheeses. Rosie and her foundation view entrepreneurship as a powerful tool for social transformation. They offer workshops for children and women, helping the community identify and develop business opportunities. Rosie believes honesty and fairness are the pillars of every successful business — values she practices daily and teaches to others. Rosie’s next goal is to expand Rosie’s Cheese Bread across the United States — always maintaining the same authenticity and premium quality that has won the hearts of her customers. She seeks partners who share her values and commitment to the community, bringing the true flavor of traditional pão de queijo mineiro to new markets nationwide
